Job Description We are seeking a Tax Senior Specialist with strong U.S. tax experience to join our team. This role is critical in managing the timely and accurate filing of Ultium’s tax returns and ensuring proper tax reporting and accruals in our financial systems. As Ultium’s business continues to grow, the ideal candidate will also support tax planning, incentives, audits, and compliance across multiple tax areas.
Primary Responsibilities - Lead compliance and analysis for U.S. federal, state, and local taxes, including income, sales/use, property, and gross receipts taxes
- Manage tax accounting processes, including accurate recording, reconciliation, and resolution of tax liabilities and expenses
- Oversee compliance and reporting activities performed by external tax service providers
- Advise on tax implications of new business initiatives and investments
- Identify and support opportunities for tax savings and cash flow improvements
- Collaborate with IT on system enhancements or implementations that affect tax reporting
- Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
- Monitor tax law changes and assess potential business impacts
Qualifications Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Required Skills - Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in public accounting or a large corporate tax department
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. tax laws and tax accounting
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and cross-functionally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred - CPA and/or advanced degree in taxation
- Experience working with manufacturing companies
