Expressive Art Therapist – Per Diem/ Weekends

This is a Per Diem Position that requires working at least 2 shifts per month on either a Saturday or a Sunday. For the initial orientation and training period, intermittent weekday availability is required. There is an opportunity to work at either the The Quincy Center in Quincy, MA or on the inpatient units at Arbour Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA.

Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We are an important community resource for a wide range of vital behavioral healthcare services. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that address individualized behavioral health needs. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community-based programs, and day treatment.

The Expressive Art Therapist is an important member of the Arbour Hospital's inpatient multidisciplinary treatment team. The Group Therapist provides expressive arts therapy, psychoeducational groups, and recreational activities on Arbour Hospital's inpatient psychiatric units.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate & document groups, on an as needed basis during the weekends
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in social work, mental health counseling, or in a related field required
• 6 months experience as a group leader in a psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment program preferred
