The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)
is currently seeking Transportation Planning Technician 3 to serve as the Permanent Traffic Recorder (PTR) Polling Specialist within the Multimodal Planning and Data Division in Tumwater, WA. As part of the Travel Data Processing team, this position will use knowledge of traffic characteristics, travel data collection hardware, and the section’s suite of data retrieval software to bring data collected in the field into the section’s data processing and reporting platform. This includes identifying and addressing issues during the data retrieval process. The data obtained is used by the Department, local agencies, research institutions, and the federal government for policy, planning, research, safety, and roadway design purposes. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience working with data and who is dedicated to data quality, excited about implementing new software and processes, and ready to contribute to a team!
